About Michelle
Nutrition has been my passion since studying at Pennsylvania State University, followed by a dietetic internship at the University of Virginia and an externship at Johns Hopkins. As a Registered Dietitian and licensed dietitian with 30 years of experience, I’ve practiced in hospitals, community health, sports nutrition, corporate wellness, private practice and fitness settings. I love family time with my 23-year-old twins, movie and game nights, and being active outdoors hiking, biking, kayaking, cross-country skiing or lifting at the gym. I bring practical tools from an ADA certification in Adult Weight Management and earlier training as a Personal Trainer and EMT to help you build realistic, lasting habits.
Approach to care
Food and movement should support the life you want to live. I ground my recommendations in current evidence while keeping things practical and doable, so we can create sustainable habits rather than temporary fixes. Sessions are judgment-free, focused on behaviors that improve energy, strength and overall well-being. I am direct and action-oriented, and I prioritize education so you understand the why behind each step. Together we’ll address sleep, stress, supplements and exercise as part of a whole-person plan.
Your first session with Michelle
During the initial visit we’ll do a thorough, compassionate assessment of your lifestyle, eating patterns, exercise, medical history and biometrics to understand where you are now. We’ll explore your goals in detail and create practical, realistic strategies you can start using right away. I’ll provide initial nutrition education, align exercise recommendations with your goals, and discuss supplements, hormones, hydration and sleep as needed. This is a low-pressure, nonjudgmental conversation. You don’t need to have everything figured out — we’ll leave with clear, personalized next steps and the motivation to move forward together.
Education
Graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelors of Science in Nutrition Dietetic Internship at University of Virginia Health Sciences Center Externship at Johns Hopkins Certification in Adult Weight Management from ADA Previous Certification in Personal Training and Fitness from AFAA Previously Certified as an EMT (Emergency Medical Team)
Hobbies
I am close with my extended family and have 23 year old twins. I enjoy movie night, game night, or family get-togethers. I value my health so I love anything active, but mostly hiking, walking, biking, kayaking, cross country skiing, or hitting the gym and lifting weights. I used to be more competitive as I ran a marathon in Alaska, ran numerous 5K-10K hill climb races up the mountains in Colorado, and biked up the highest-paved road in America! I have always been passionate about nutrition, and wellness.
