About Summer
After training at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center I built a career working in hospital settings and community health programs, and I bring 24 years as a registered dietitian to every visit. As an RDN and LDN I focus on practical, sustainable steps that fit real life. I'm as likely to suggest a simple meal tweak as a gardening or cooking habit that makes healthy choices easier. Outside of the clinic you'll find me on my yoga mat, sewing, reading, traveling, or experimenting in the kitchen.
Approach to care
Food, health, and daily life are connected, and I center care on the whole person. Grounded in current evidence and a Health At Every Size outlook, I prioritize behavior changes that improve quality of life rather than weight-focused rules. I'm direct and action-oriented, so we'll translate research into clear, manageable steps, while keeping our work warm, nonjudgmental, and educational. Together we'll build skills that last, adjust as needed, and celebrate practical progress.
Your first session with Summer
Expect a thoughtful, low-pressure conversation where we'll review your medical history and take a deep dive into your relationship with food, routines, and obstacles. I'm here to listen, not to judge, and we'll work together to identify one or two short-term goals you can actually use. You don't need to have answers before you arrive. We'll leave with concrete next steps and a plan to test what works, then refine it as we move forward together.
