About Sherrie
Aloha! Iâm Sherrie, Registered Dietitian, Diabetes Care and Education Specialist, and National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach based in Honolulu, HawaiÊ»i. With over 32 years of experience, I currently specialize in diabetes prevention and management, kidney disease, healthy weight management, and womenâs healthâespecially emotional eating and supporting women through the menopause transition. As a recreational runner, I also enjoy guiding women in race training and performance nutrition, including effective fueling for workouts, recovery, and race day success.
Approach to care
I believe nourishment goes beyond whatâs on your plateâitâs also how you care for your body, manage your energy, and support your long-term health. My approach is warm, judgment-free, and rooted in respect, and I always strive to display unconditional positive regard for my clients. I focus on nourishment rather than restriction, helping you build sustainable eating habits without extremes, shame, or pressure to be perfect. Using evidence-based nutrition guidance and motivational interviewing, I support you in exploring what works for you and creating changes that feel realistic and lasting. Whether your goals include improving health markers or building a more supportive relationship with food, we focus on practical steps that are sustainable, flexible, and tailored to your life.
Your first session with Sherrie
Your first session is a comfortable, supportive conversation focused entirely on you. I want to understand your health history, goals, and what brought you here. Together, weâll explore your priorities and decide what support will look like moving forward. Thereâs no pressure, and you donât need to have everything figured out. I want to hear your story, recognize whatâs already working, and help you identify one or two realistic first steps. I typically recommend weekly follow-up sessions at first, then transitioning to every other week as confidence and momentum build and to provide ongoing support and accountability. Inclusive, affirming care is central to my practice, and I warmly welcome members of the LGBTQ+ community. I look forward to meeting you!
