About Shannon
After earning my MS in Nutrition in Dietetics from Eastern Illinois University, I have spent five years as a Registered Dietitian with 2+ years working in a bariatric/weight loss clinic and 2 years working with oncology/critical care patients in a hospital setting. As an RDN, I enjoy turning nutrition science into practical steps you can use every day. When I'm not working with patients you'll find me at a concert, hiking a local trail, lost in a good book, or happily binging a TV series. I'm eager to partner with you, offering useful education and support to build sustainable habits that fit your life.
Approach to care
Evidence and empathy guide how I work. I practice from a weight-neutral Health At Every Size perspective, focusing on behaviors and wellbeing rather than numbers on a scale. I'll bring current research into our conversations, while keeping recommendations practical and tailored to your life. We'll work together, setting clear, direct action steps you can try and adapt. I also attend to the whole person, including sleep, stress, movement, and emotions, so changes are realistic and sustainable. My goal is to educate and empower you, so you feel confident making choices long term.
Your first session with Shannon
Think of the first visit as a comfortable, curiosity-driven conversation. We'll review your medical history and take a deep dive into your relationship with food, including what has felt helpful and what has been frustrating. You don't need to have everything figured out beforehand. Together we'll identify one or two short-term, achievable goals and leave with a clear, manageable plan to get started. The space is judgment-free and low-pressure, and we'll adjust as we learn what works best for you.
