About Puspita
Food, science, and nutrition have been threads through my career life. After earning a M.S. in Food and Nutrition at Texas Tech and becoming a registered dietitian through a program from California State University, Los Angeles, I have spent over 20 years working across acute clinical care, research and academia, MNT, and community health. My work has included menu planning, policy writing, creating nutrition assessment tools and nutrition care plans, educating patients on nutrition and meal planning, and writing nutrition articles and education materials. While I am not working, I enjoy reading, writing, walking, cooking, knitting, meeting friends, and watching TV. I hold MS, RDN, RD, CD credentials and use that background and my skills and knowledge throughout my professional career in nutrition and dietetics field.
Approach to care
I believe in evidence-based practice. I focus on individual food choices based on their beliefs and cultural backgrounds. I approach care without judgment. Together we'll set clear, achievable steps that fit your food preferences and daily routine, emphasizing sustainability over quick fixes. I value education and teamwork, so sessions are collaborative and empowering. I concentrate on behaviors and health outcomes that matter to you.
Your first session with Puspita
On our first visit we'll spend time building trust while reviewing your medical history, current eating patterns, and beliefs about food. That helps me tailor a realistic meal plan that respects what you already enjoy. We'll set one to two short term goals you feel confident about, and agree on simple next steps so you leave with a clear, manageable plan. This is a low-pressure, judgment-free conversation, and you do not need to have everything figured out before we meet.
