About Melanie
After 26 years as a Registered Dietitian I bring experience from community health, private practice, corporate wellness, clinical and hospital care, and school nutrition to every appointment. I earned a BS in Nutrition at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities and an MBA from the University of Phoenix, and I practice as an RD and LD. I love staying active with running, hiking, and strength training, but Iām just as happy cooking a good meal, playing games, or watching a movie. Gardening keeps me grounded, books keep me curious, and time with family and friends keeps me smiling. My work is grounded in compassion, practicality, and a clear understanding of how food fits into daily life.
Approach to care
Science guides the recommendations I share, and compassion shapes how we apply them together. I use evidence-based, weight-neutral care that focuses on sustainable behaviors rather than a number on a scale. We'll translate current research into simple, practical steps you can use in your routine, while addressing sleep, movement, stress, and your relationship with food. I aim to educate and empower, setting clear actions so we can track progress without judgment and build habits that last.
Your first session with Melanie
Expect a relaxed, judgment-free conversation where we'll review your medical history, any lab work or biometrics, and take a deep look at your relationship with food. I want to hear about your routines, wins, and frustrations so we can identify a couple of short-term, realistic goals together. You don't need to have everything figured out ahead of time, I'll help make sense of the details and leave you with practical next steps we can build on.
