About Mei

Nutrition and movement have been constant companions in my life. With more 30 years as a registered dietitian, pediatric nutritionist, diabetes educator based in New York City and Long Island, I bring clinical, private practice, research, pharmaceutical experience, holistic health approach to each visit. My training includes an MS in Human Nutrition and an MPH in Environmental Health from Columbia University, plus an MS in Oriental Medicine and a doctorate in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. My RD, CDN, Licensed Acupuncturist credentials, along with CDCES, CSP, TCM training, inform practical, compassionate care. When I am not working, you might find me dancing, practicing yoga, QiGong or TaiChi, or traveling to explore new foods and cultures.

Approach to care

I combine rigorous, evidence-based guidance with a warm, nonjudgmental presence so we can make lasting changes together. Using a Health At Every Size lens, I focus on behaviors and sustainable habits rather than weight. We will translate research into clear, doable steps, while addressing the whole person, including movement, stress, and sleep. I teach practical skills so you feel empowered, and I hold us accountable with direct, flexible plans that fit your life.

Your first session with Mei

Expect a relaxed, thoughtful conversation where we'll review your medical history and where you want to go. We'll take a deep dive into your relationship with food, uncover patterns that help or hinder progress, and clarify the outcomes you expect. Together we will set a couple of realistic short-term goals and identify small, measurable steps you can start right away. You do not need to have it all figured out. This is a judgment-free space and we will shape the plan as we learn what works for you.
