About Maureen
Food has guided my life from learning how to cook with my Italian grandmother at age 6 to 32 years of working as a Registered Dietitian. I earned a BS in Nutrition and Dietetics from Kent State University and completed a Dietetic Internship at Cleveland Clinic Foundation. I have practiced in hospitals, outpatient clinics, long-term care, corporate wellness and community health. I have also taught both weight loss and cardiac rehabilitation classes. As an RD and licensed dietitian I bring science into everyday choices. Based in Mentor, Ohio, I love cooking, gardening, golfing and exercising, and I use those same practical, joyful perspectives to help patients build realistic, lasting habits that fit their lives.
Approach to care
Every person I work with deserves respectful, evidence-based guidance that fits their circumstances. I use current research and proven protocols while honoring the whole person, including emotional and social factors that shape eating. With a Health At Every Size, weight-neutral focus, we concentrate on behaviors and wellbeing rather than the scale. Together we'll set clear, manageable steps, track progress with compassion, and build sustainable habits through education and gentle accountability, so change lasts beyond a single visit.
Your first session with Maureen
Expect a relaxed, judgment-free conversation where we'll review your medical history, look over any lab work and biometrics, and talk about your current eating habits and routines. We'll explore what matters most to you, identify a couple of short-term, achievable goals, and outline simple action steps you can start right away. You don't need perfect records or to have everything figured out. We'll move at your pace, keep things practical, and leave with a clear plan to try between appointments.
