About Matthew

Food has always been more than fuel for me. With a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics/Food Administration and six years working as a Registered Dietitian in clinical hospital settings and private practice, I bring science, curiosity, and practical problem solving to each visit. I also hold CNSC certification, which informs my clinical nutrition decisions. Based in San Diego, I recharge by hiking coastal trails, tending a garden and turning that produce into simple meals, photographing landscapes, and camping when I can.

I ground recommendations in current research, then translate evidence into clear, doable steps we can apply to your real life. Working together means I listen first, ask questions, and offer direct, actionable strategies without judgment. I practice through a Health At Every Size lens, focusing on behaviors, well-being, and sustainable habits rather than scale-based goals. I want you to leave sessions feeling informed and capable, with education that builds confidence for long-term change across physical, mental, and social health.

Your first session with Matthew

Expect a relaxed, collaborative conversation where we'll review your medical history and any lab work or biometrics you can share. We'll take a deep, nonjudgmental look at your relationship with food, explore routines and barriers, and talk about what has and hasn't worked for you. By the end of the visit we'll set one or two short-term goals and a clear next step that feels achievable. You don't need to have it all figured out, just bring your questions and an openness to small, meaningful changes we'll try together.
