About Mary
Nurturing lasting health habits has been the throughline of my 14 years as a Registered Dietitian. My MS in Health Promotion from the University of Mississippi taught me how to translate science into practical plans. I’ve worked in hospitals, K-12 schools, and on college campuses, and I draw on that variety when supporting patients. As a Dietitian and Diabetes Educator I focus on realistic, sustainable change. When I’m not with patients I practice yoga, travel, and draw from my home base in Charleston, South Carolina.
Approach to care
Food and health deserve clear, compassionate thinking, grounded in the best available evidence. I take a weight-neutral lens that focuses on behaviors and wellbeing, not numbers on a scale. We’ll work together using direct, action-oriented steps and education so you can make sustainable choices. I attend to the whole person, mental and physical, and create a judgment-free space where accountability feels supportive instead of punitive.
Your first session with Mary
Expect a relaxed, conversation-style visit where we'll review your medical history and make space for you to share what matters most. Together we’ll translate that into one or two short-term goals that feel doable, and I’ll offer practical steps you can try before our next visit. You don’t need to have it all figured out, just bring your questions and concerns and we’ll build a low-pressure plan together.
