About Marlayna
Food, science, and the comfort of a warm kitchen drew me into nutrition. I have a Professional Science Masters in Applied Nutrition from the University of Arizona and have spent the last year practicing in clinical hospital and community health settings. As an RD and LDN, I combine evidence-based care with a warm, down-to-earth manner. Outside of work I experiment with cooking and baking, read widely, play tennis, and practice hot yoga. Those hobbies help me keep recommendations realistic and enjoyable for everyday life.
Approach to care
Evidence matters, and so does compassion. I practice through a Health At Every Size lens, focusing on behavior-based, sustainable changes rather than short-term fixes or restriction. We'll translate current research into clear, practical actions you can use, while also looking at sleep, stress, movement, and routines to support the whole person. My role is to teach, support, and hold you accountable in a judgment-free way, so change feels doable and sticks over time.
Your first session with Marlayna
Think of our first visit as a relaxed, collaborative check-in. We'll review your medical history together, look over any lab work or biometrics you have, and map out one or two short-term goals that feel achievable. You don't need to have everything figured out beforehand. We'll take a practical, stepwise approach so you leave with clear next steps and the confidence that we're working toward long-term, sustainable habits together.
