About Maria
Food has always been both science and solace for me. With 30 years as a registered dietitian, my BS in Nutrition and MPA in Health Administration inform a clinical perspective honed in hospital settings. As an RD and CDN, I focus on weight management and medical nutrition therapy, including support for people navigating GLP-1 medications. Outside of work you'll often find me gardening, experimenting in the kitchen, or planning my next trip, all of which keep my approach practical and joy-filled.
Approach to care
Science guides the recommendations I offer, and empathy shapes how we put them into practice. I use evidence-based strategies while honoring Health At Every Size, focusing on behavior change rather than weight stigma. We'll work together to set clear, actionable steps that build sustainable habits, and I’ll explain the why behind each suggestion so you can make informed choices. I value the whole person, including emotional and lifestyle factors, and create plans that fit your life, not the other way around.
Your first session with Maria
Expect a conversational visit where we'll review your medical history and take a close look at your relationship with food. We'll set a couple of realistic short-term goals and outline a meal plan that feels achievable, not restrictive. This is a judgment-free space, so you don't need to have everything figured out. Together we'll map practical next steps that support long-term, sustainable change.
