About Madeleine

Hi, I'm Madeleine. Welcome! I've been a RD since 2008 with a lot of unique experiences—everything from hospitals to Meals on Wheels. I was the lead RD for the Advanced Heart Failure team at Vanderbilt Medical Center for over 10 years and had the special experience of observing surgeries, participating in research, and creating national care guidelines and educational material for the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics. I did my internship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville TN and received a Masters in Nutrition in 2021. I am Board Certified in Gerontological Nutrition. Healthy aging, building/maintaining muscle, and have a good quality of life is important to me and something I enjoy teaching others about. I am also soon to be Board Certified as a Diabetes Educator and Specialist (CDCES) in Spring 2026. Outside of work I enjoy painting, swimming, playing card games with my boys, and planing my next trip. I live in Middle TN with my husband and two young boys (8, 10).

Approach to care

In a world where so much false nutrition information is on social media, I want to help people feel confident in navigating through this information by sharing real, practical, evidence-based nutrition facts. You can be healthy at any size. What matters most is how you feel, that your labs are within a healthy range, and that you have a balanced, positive relationship with food. Let's focus on sustainable habits, function, and self-compassion rather than weight. I prioritize a warm, judgment-free space where your questions matter and education empowers you to make informed choices for you and your close circle of friends/family, not just what to put on your plate.

Your first session with Madeleine

Expect a relaxed, collaborative conversation where we'll set short-term, achievable goals and review your medical history and any lab work or biometrics you bring. We'll do a deep, nonjudgmental dive into your relationship with food, daily routines, and what has or hasn't worked in the past. You don't need to have all the answers. Together we'll identify one or two manageable steps to start, so you leave with clarity and a realistic plan. I would love for you to take advantage of the free lab testing every 3 months too so we can track your progress!
