About Lisa
Hi, I’m Lisa. I’m a registered dietitian with a background in public health and experience in cardiology, nephrology, and dialysis access. Before becoming an RD, I worked as a medical assistant and scrub technician, which gave me a strong understanding of how nutrition fits into complex medical conditions and real-world healthcare. As a dietitian, much of my work has focused on maternal and child health, including prenatal care, postpartum support, breastfeeding, and early childhood nutrition. At Nourish, I’ve also worked with individuals managing weight concerns, chronic conditions, digestive issues, and overall wellness goals. I care deeply about helping people make changes that are both effective and realistic enough to maintain over time.
Approach to care
I practice with an individualized, whole-person approach. There isn’t one “perfect” diet, because each person brings a different medical history, lifestyle, culture, and set of priorities. When we work together, I look beyond just food. We consider your medical background, family history, exercise habits, sleep, stress levels, energy, work-life balance, and your relationship with food. My background in public health also shapes how I practice, as I understand that access to food, finances, family responsibilities, and daily demands all influence health decisions. I don’t label foods as “good” or “bad,” and I don’t believe in rigid plans that ignore real life. Instead, we focus on building balanced habits and making thoughtful adjustments that support your goals. Often, that means identifying what we can add to strengthen your nutrition rather than focusing only on restriction. My goal is to help you build skills and confidence so the progress you make feels sustainable, not temporary.
Your first session with Lisa
Our first session is about getting a clear understanding of where you are and where you’d like to go. I’ll ask questions about your health history, current habits, and past experiences so I can see the full picture. I may ask you to walk me through a typical day to better understand your routines and what feels realistic for you. We’ll talk through your goals and what prompted you to seek support now. By the end of the session, we’ll outline practical next steps that feel manageable and aligned with your priorities, so you leave with direction and a plan we can continue building on together.
