Patient reviews
“Kenia is an outstanding nutritionist and coach who goes above and beyond to accommodate people's needs and preferences. In my case, she can speak both English and Spanish. She helps me tailor meals and exercises to my vegetarian diet and diabetes limitations, while setting expectations and accountability. It is joyful to have sessions with her. “

About Kenia
Food has always been my way to connect with people. I earned a bachelor's degree in food and Nutritional Sciences with a dietetics specialty and completed my dietetic internship at Clinica Sierra Vista. Over six years as a Registered Dietitian, I’ve worked in local hospitals, the WIC Program, and a company that provides medically tailored meals. As a CDCES and RD based in Bakersfield, I enjoy trying new restaurants, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. I speak Spanish and bring practical, person-centered guidance to help you build habits that last.
Approach to care
Nutrition counseling should be practical, compassionate, and rooted in solid science. I combine evidence-based strategies with a warm, nonjudgmental style so we can focus on behaviors that support long-term health, not quick fixes. We'll set clear, actionable steps together, always considering the whole person, including mental and emotional wellbeing. I use a weight-neutral lens and educational coaching to empower you, so changes feel sustainable and aligned with your life.
Your first session with Kenia
When we meet for the first time, we'll take time to review your medical history, current routines, and what’s been working or frustrating for you. This is a low-pressure conversation, and you do not need to have all the answers. We'll listen to your goals and priorities, discuss realistic next steps, and leave with one or two manageable actions to try. I offer care in Spanish or English, and together we'll build a plan that fits your life and can be sustained over time.
