About Katie
I have 20 years of experience as a Registered Dietitian. I obtained a BS in Nutrition and Food Science from Georgia Southern and earned an MPH in Public Health Practice from the University of South Florida. My career has included outpatient counseling, sports nutrition, community health, and teaching college level nutrition classes as an adjunct faculty member. Outside clinic hours I love traveling, teaching, and family time as a mom to two energetic boys.
Approach to care
Evidence guides our work and compassion shapes how we apply it. I practice through a weight-neutral Health At Every Size lens, focusing on behaviors and wellbeing rather than scale outcomes. Together we'll translate current research into clear, practical steps that fit your life, not the other way around. I prioritize teaching so you leave sessions with understanding, tools, and gradual strategies for sustainable, whole-person change.
Your first session with Katie
When we meet we'll have a judgment-free conversation that covers your medical history and dives into your relationship with food, routines, and goals. We'll establish short-term, realistic goals that build momentum without pressure. You don't need to have it all figured out. I listen, ask focused questions, and together we'll create simple next steps you can try before our next visit, adjusting as we learn what works for you.
