About Karla
Balancing science and everyday life drew me to nutrition and is what I love most about being an RDN. I studied Nutrition and Dietetics at Kansas State University and have four years of experience working in hospitals, community health programs, and long-term care. That mix taught me to translate clinical evidence into practical, achievable plans. When I'm not working, I enjoy photography, experimenting in the kitchen, and spending time with family, which keeps my approach grounded and relatable.
Approach to care
Food is one tool among many for wellbeing, and we'll focus on evidence-based strategies that fit your life and values. I work from a Health At Every Size perspective, staying weight-neutral and behavior-focused so you feel seen, not judged. Together we'll turn research into clear, practical steps, build sustainable habits, and learn along the way. I combine warmth with direct, actionable guidance so you leave each session more confident and informed.
Your first session with Karla
You can expect a calm, judgment-free conversation where we'll review your medical history and current routines, and talk about what's working and what feels hard. There's no need to have everything figured out beforehand. We'll collaborate to set a couple of short-term, realistic goals and outline simple next steps you can try between visits. I'll answer your questions, share evidence-based options, and support you as we build habits that last.
