About JoAnna

Food has always been a bridge between science and everyday life for me. With 25 years as a Registered Dietitian and a BS in nutrition from Benedictine University plus an NIU internship, I've worked in hospital clinical settings, outpatient clinics, community health programs, and nursing homes around Chicago. As an RDN I bring clinical rigor and a practical, down-to-earth perspective, and when I’m not working you’ll find me gardening, baking, or cycling around the city.

Approach to care

I ground recommendations in current research while keeping our conversations warm and judgment-free. Together we'll translate evidence into simple, sustainable habits that fit your life, with clear, actionable steps and accountability along the way. I practice from a weight-neutral, health-at-every-size stance, looking at the whole person including mental and emotional wellbeing. Education is central to my work, so you'll understand the why behind each plan and feel empowered to make lasting change.

Your first session with JoAnna

During your initial visit we'll review lab work and biometrics, go over your medical history, and spend time building rapport so I understand your routines and priorities. We'll establish short-term goals together and set client-based expectations for the program, leaving you with clear, manageable next steps. This is a low-pressure, nonjudgmental conversation, so you don't need to have everything figured out before we meet.
