About Ivette

Hi, I’m Ivette! I’m a bilingual registered dietitian who takes a non-diet, culturally inclusive approach to nutrition. As a Mexican Latina who has lived many years in Mexico, I enjoy helping people improve their health while honoring traditional foods. I also bring a culinary perspective to make nutrition practical and enjoyable.

Approach to care

My approach to nutrition is grounded in evidence-based care while recognizing that your life, culture, and experiences shape how nutrition fits into your routine. I practice from a Health at Every Size, non-diet perspective, focusing on sustainable behavior change rather than restrictive dieting. My goal is to help you build realistic habits that support your health while still enjoying the foods that are meaningful to you. I especially value honoring cultural traditions and helping patients find ways to care for their health without giving up the foods they love. My counseling style is warm, supportive, and educational. During our sessions, we’ll break down nutrition information into practical, manageable steps so you leave feeling confident, informed, and empowered to make choices that work for your lifestyle.

Your first session with Ivette

You can expect a relaxed, judgment-free conversation where we’ll review your health history and take a deeper look at your relationship with food. We’ll talk about what matters most to you, including your lifestyle, culture, food preferences, and any challenges you’ve been facing. Together, we’ll identify a few realistic short-term goals and outline practical first steps that feel manageable for your everyday life. My goal is for you to leave the session feeling supported, understood, and with a clear direction moving forward. You don’t need to come prepared with all the answers. We’ll explore things together, and I’m happy to meet with you in either English or Spanish so you can feel comfortable and fully heard.
