About Heather
I began work as a registered dietitian in 2018 at one of the largest hospitals in DFW, specializing in critical care, oncology, heart health, and nutrition support. After learning so much during my 6 years there, I decided to transition to the outpatient world in 2024. Over the past 2 years, I have been working with patients to meet their nutrition goals with weight loss, bariatrics, cardiovascular health, pre-diabetes and diabetes management, and to build a healthy relationship with food. I am passionate about patient care and love building long-term relationships with my patients to cheer them on as they achieve their goals.
Approach to care
Evidence and empathy guides how I work with people. I draw on clinical experience and current research to give clear, practical steps, while staying warm and judgment-free. I don’t believe we all have the same 24 hours in the day. Whether you are balancing parenthood, a challenging career, school, or managing chronic illness, I want to work with you to create individualized goals that suit your lifestyle and the season of life you are in. I love to work with anyone, from the most novice cooks to the individuals who are passionate and well-versed in nutrition. I want to work with you to create a plan that allows you to achieve your goals while also providing sustainability. I'll teach you the why behind the recommendations so you'll feel empowered, and we will set realistic, measurable goals together that fit your life and values.
Your first session with Heather
Expect a relaxed, collaborative conversation where we’ll review your medical history and map out short-term goals that feel doable. We'll take a deep dive into your relationship with food and the routines that surround it, but there's no pressure to have answers ready. I listen first, offer evidence-based guidance, and help you leave with one or two clear steps to try. We'll adjust as we go, meeting you where you are and building toward lasting change together.
