About Heather
Nutrition has been my career and curiosity for 26 years. After earning an MS and PhD from UC Davis, I have worked in research and academia, clinical hospital settings, and community health, bringing science and practice together as an RDN. I love hands-on problem solving and practical strategies, and outside the clinic you'll find me cooking, tending my garden, traveling, or hiking. Those interests keep me grounded and inspire sustainable, enjoyable changes I share with the people I work with.
Approach to care
Food and health deserve both evidence and compassion. I translate current research into clear, practical steps we can try together, while honoring the whole person, not just lab values. Our work is weight-neutral and behavior-focused, aimed at building skills and knowledge so you can make informed choices long term. I'll be direct about action steps and flexible about how we get there, holding a warm, nonjudgmental space as we create sustainable habits.
Your first session with Heather
Expect a relaxed, collaborative visit where we'll review your medical history and any available lab work or biometrics, and talk through what matters most to you. We'll explore what's been working, what feels challenging, and your goals, then establish one or two realistic short-term steps to get started. You don't need to have everything figured out before the appointment. Bring questions, and together we'll build a manageable plan that fits your life.
