About Gavin

Working with a personal trainer years ago showed me how much better my body could feel when strength training was paired with balanced, evidence-based nutrition, and that inspired my path into this field. I earned an MS and BS in Nutrition Sciences at the University of New Haven and an AS in Nutrition & Dietetics at Gateway Community College. With one year practicing across clinical, sports nutrition, and community health settings, I work as a Registered Dietitian, hold a CDN credential, and am based in New Haven, Connecticut. Outside of work you'll often find me trying a new healthy recipe, lifting weights, tinkering on a home improvement project, gaming with my cats nearby, or translating practical life fixes into plans we'll use together.

Approach to care

Science guides the recommendations I make, but the person in front of me matters most. I use current research to create clear, actionable steps while keeping our conversations warm, nonjudgmental, and focused on sustainable habits rather than quick fixes. We'll work together to prioritize behaviors that fit your life, paying attention to sleep, stress, movement, and how food fits into your day. I take a weight-neutral, behavior-focused stance and aim to educate so you understand the why behind each choice. Expect direct, practical coaching that empowers you to build lasting change, one realistic habit at a time.

Your first session with Gavin

Expect the first visit to be a relaxed, thorough conversation where I get to know your medical history, review any lab work or biometrics you have, and explore your relationship with food. We'll talk through past attempts, current barriers, and what success looks like to you. Together we'll establish short-term, realistic goals and identify practical next steps so you leave with clarity, not pressure. You do not need to have everything figured out. This is a judgment-free space where we'll meet you where you're at and build sustainable progress together.
