About Frances
Food and family have always been intertwined in my life, which is why I pursued hospital dietetics and a masters degree in Food and Nutrition at Louisiana State University as well as a dietetic internship in Indianapolis. For 35 years I have worked across hospitals, community health, home health, nursing home consultation, adult day care, and state administration of USDA child feeding programs. I practice as an RDN and LDN, hold an MS and CSG, and love gardening, baking sourdough bread to share, singing in my church choir, and visiting my seven children and their families when I can. I grew up in southwest Louisiana and also enjoy preparing Crawfish Etouffee, and Smoked Turkey/Shrimp Gumbo.
Approach to care
Evidence and empathy guide how I work. I use current science to inform clear, practical steps, while keeping conversations judgment-free and centered on your life. Together we'll set sustainable habits that respect your body and priorities, focusing on behaviors rather than weight. I aim to educate and support you so changes stick, helping you enjoy meals and community while making healthful choices that fit your day-to-day routine.
Your first session with Frances
Expect a relaxed, collaborative conversation where we'll review your medical history and any lab work or biometrics you have. We'll take time to build rapport, hear what matters to you, and identify one or two short-term goals that feel manageable. You do not need to have everything figured out. We'll leave with a clear, low-pressure plan and practical next steps so you can make steady, lasting progress together.
