About Emily
Emily discovered her passion for nutrition and disease prevention through her own health challenges. She quickly realized that knowing what’s healthy isn’t enough—lasting change requires addressing the obstacles that make it difficult. She focuses on giving clients the confidence and tools to create sustainable improvements that go beyond simply learning about healthy eating. Outside of work, Emily applies these principles in her own life, valuing time outdoors as essential to well-being. She encourages clients to reconnect with nature and appreciate simple joys, aiming to inspire a balanced life where self-care, purpose, and vitality are part of every day.
Approach to care
Emily strongly believes in the vital role food plays in overall health. Through collaboration with functional medicine providers, she has developed an integrative approach that combines conventional and functional medicine principles. She emphasizes that nutrition can be a powerful tool for healing and maintaining optimal health while also recognizing the importance of identifying root causes. By helping clients understand how their food choices impact how they feel, she guides them toward more intentional decisions that nourish both body and mind. Whether someone is seeking personal growth or working toward a healthier lifestyle, Emily provides individualized nutrition guidance within a holistic framework to support lasting wellness. Please note: Emily generally recommends 12 or more sessions depending on goals and insurance coverage. Because the first session focuses on intake and assessment, nutrition counseling will begin in future sessions.
Your first session with Emily
During your first session, we will cover a lot of ground and explore what led you to schedule this appointment. We’ll begin by reviewing important logistics such as insurance, policies, expectations, appointment frequency, scheduling, the Nourish app, and communication between sessions. While you may be eager to dive in, covering these items first helps prevent surprises and ensures we are on the same page moving forward. Next, we will complete a health assessment so Emily can learn more about you and better support you in future sessions. Her approach focuses on building a well-rounded lifestyle, recognizing that true health involves caring for the mind, body, and spirit. She emphasizes the role of nutrition alongside mental clarity, emotional resilience, and overall well-being, encouraging clients to prioritize self-care and mindfulness to support lasting success.
