About Ellen
I'm Ellen Reiss-Goldfarb, RDN, CEDS-C, a Registered Dietitian, Nutrition Therapist and Certified Eating Disorders Specialist with over 25 years experience. I specialize in working with adults who feel stuck in cycles of binge eating, emotional eating, chronic dieting, and disordered eating. Many of my clients come to me feeling frustrated, overwhelmed, and unsure how to move forward despite trying multiple approaches. My work focuses on helping clients understand the emotional and behavioral patterns that drive eating, while developing practical, sustainable strategies that support long-term change. Together, we move away from guilt and rigid rules and toward a more balanced, peaceful relationship with food. I also support women navigating midlife changes, perimenopause and menopause, where shifts in the body and eating patterns can feel especially challenging.
Approach to care
My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and individualized. I believe lasting change comes from understanding patterns not from restriction or willpower. I use a Health at Every Size ( HAES) and Intuitive Eating approach combined with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy( CBT), and a mind-body perspective, to address both the emotional and practical aspects of eating. Our work focuses on reducing guilt and shame around food, improving body trust and building realistic habits that feel sustainable. My goal is to help you feel more grounded, more in control, and more at ease in your relationship with food and your body.
Your first session with Ellen
Your first session is a supportive, non-judgmental space to begin understanding your relationship with food. We will discuss your eating patterns, history, current challenges, and goals. Together, we will start identifying patterns and explore initial strategies that feel manageable and realistic. You will feel greater clarity, a sense of direction, and a plan for next steps -while feeling supported and not alone in the process.
