About Delia
With 23 years as a registered dietitian and an MS in Nutrition from Dekalb, IL, I bring experience from hospitals, private practice, community health, sports nutrition, and gut-focused settings. As an RD and LDN who has also worked as a Gut and Psychology/Physiology Practitioner and a Corrective Holistic Exercise Kinesiologist, I blend clinical rigor with practical, hands-on solutions. When I'm not cooking or hiking, I spend time farming and milking cows, which keeps my work rooted in seasonal, traditional food wisdom and everyday practicality.
Approach to care
I treat nutrition as both evidence and lived skill, combining current research with clear, practical steps we'll use together. My work is holistic and educational, so you leave sessions understanding the why behind recommendations. I take a weight-neutral, behavior-focused stance, offering warm, nonjudgmental support while staying direct and action-oriented. We'll prioritize sustainable habits, measurable short-term wins, and long-term resilience. Together, we'll build realistic plans that fit your life, not quick fixes that can't be maintained.
Your first session with Delia
Expect a thorough, low-pressure conversation where we review your medical history, existing lab work and biometrics, and what feels manageable for you right now. We'll identify short-term goals together so you have immediate, achievable next steps. We'll also discuss whether ancestral or gut-focused approaches, including GAPS and nutrient-dense traditional foods, could support your healing, always balancing evidence with your preferences. You do not need to have it all figured out. We'll move at a pace that feels doable and judgment-free.
