About Dakota
Nutrition has always felt like both science and a way to enjoy life. I earned my MS in Nutrition Science from Meredith College, and after one year working as a Registered Dietitian I bring hands-on experience from sports nutrition and community health to our conversations. As an RDN and LDN I focus on translating evidence into practical steps that fit your day-to-day. Outside of work I recharge by hiking, cooking new recipes, dancing, and traveling, so I know how food and lifestyle weave into real life.
Approach to care
Food and health are complex, so I ground our work in current research while centering your priorities and lived experience. Practicing through a Health At Every Size lens means we focus on sustainable habits, function, and behavior rather than weight targets. We'll set clear, actionable steps together, track what works, and adjust based on data and your feedback. I aim to be warm and nonjudgmental, and to teach you the why behind recommendations so changes stick long term.
Your first session with Dakota
Expect a relaxed, judgment-free conversation where we'll review any lab work or biometrics you have and walk through your medical history to build a clear picture. Together we'll identify a couple of short-term, achievable goals so you leave with a concrete next step. You don't need to have it all figured out, just bring your questions and honest reflections. My goal is to make the visit practical, reassuring, and oriented toward sustainable progress.
