About Cheryl
With 20 years as a Registered Dietitian and an MS in Human Nutrition from the University of New Haven, I bring clinical hospital experience and community health work together to support patients in practical ways. My RD training, along with CNSC and CDN expertise, helps me translate evidence into care that fits your life. Outside of sessions you'll often find me gardening, crocheting, reading, or hiking. I'm passionate about helping people build a healthy, sustainable relationship with food.
Approach to care
I ground care in current research and proven protocols, while keeping things warm, practical, and compassionate. We will focus on sustainable habits, not quick fixes, using a Health At Every Size, weight-neutral lens so we center behaviors and wellbeing over numbers. I aim to be both empathetic and direct, giving clear, actionable steps while educating you so you can make informed choices. Together we'll address the whole person, including emotional and lifestyle factors that support long-term change.
Your first session with Cheryl
During our first visit we'll review your medical history and any lab work or biometrics you have, and we'll talk through your relationship with food and daily routines. We'll set one or two short-term, realistic goals together, so you leave with concrete next steps rather than overwhelm. This is a judgment-free space, and you don't need to have everything figured out. My priority is to listen, prioritize what matters to you, and make a plan that feels achievable.
