About Cara
Food connects science and daily life for me, and that connection has shaped a nine-year career as a Registered Dietitian. I hold an MS in Nutrition from Eastern Illinois University and have worked in both clinical hospital settings and community health, bringing practical experience to each conversation. As a CDCES, I enjoy helping people translate lab numbers and medical notes into doable steps. Outside of work I recharge by being outside, cooking new recipes, listening to podcasts, and hanging out with family.
Approach to care
Evidence and empathy guide my work. I use current research and proven protocols to build clear, practical steps, while keeping conversations warm and judgment-free. We’ll focus on sustainable habits, not quick fixes, using a weight-neutral Health At Every Size perspective that centers behaviors and well-being. Together we’ll address the whole person, mixing education with action so you understand why changes matter and feel confident carrying them forward.
Your first session with Cara
We’ll start with a relaxed conversation about your medical history and current routines, so I can see the whole picture without any judgment. I’ll review lab work and biometrics with you, and we’ll set one or two short-term goals that feel realistic for your life. You don’t need to have everything figured out—this visit is about listening, clarifying priorities, and leaving with a clear, sustainable next step we’ll tackle together.
