“I have been seeing Calliope for six months, and working with her has exceeded my expectations. I am finally trusting this new way to think about food (i.e., letting go of dieting and taking steps to have a healthy relationship with food). I have learned so much about my food rules, eating habits, and the restrict/binge cycles. I still have a lot to learn, and I’m grateful that Calliope is on this journey with me. She is compassionate, patient, encouraging, and knowledgeable!“

“Calliope is knowledgeable, validated my insights, really listened to me and provided so much good information. I can tell she really knows her stuff and is passionate about nutrition! Plus she was very nice and friendly and easy to chat with which is very important to me in a dietitian!“
“Calliope listened and took a great deal of time to understand my issues. She was also very personable and reasonable.“
About Calliope
I am a Registered Dietitian who practices from a weight-inclusive, anti-diet perspective, helping clients improve their health without guilt, shame, or rigid food rules. My work centers on sustainable, evidence-based strategies that support long-term health rather than short-term restriction. Using medical nutrition therapy and behavior change science, I help clients improve cardiometabolic markers, support blood sugar regulation, manage gastrointestinal symptoms, and address hormonal concerns—without defaulting to dieting as the primary intervention. Together, we focus on building balanced meals, normalizing eating patterns, strengthening body awareness, and creating realistic routines that align with your life. I recognize that many individuals come to nutrition counseling after years of dieting, conflicting advice, or frustration with their bodies. My role is to help untangle that noise and provide clear, individualized guidance rooted in science and compassion.
Approach to care
My approach is focused on overall health. While I monitor biomarkers like labs and blood pressure, I also take into consideration mental, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing when creating interventions. The care I provide is individualized, with actionable goals that feel realistic to your current lifestyle and needs. This is also a pressure free zone. Rather than thinking about goals as "pass or fail", I encourage you to consider your goals like an experiment. We put goals into action after session and comeback next time to make tweaks (if needed) or advance based on the data you've gathered between sessions.
Your first session with Calliope
The first session is for me to get to know you. I want a clear picture of what you want out of our time together and your "why" behind seeking behavior change. I also want to gain a deep understanding of what makes you tick, your current lifestyle, food preferences, and what you've done in the past to work toward your health goals. I'll be asking a lot of questions about you so we can soon begin working on suitable goals.

Hobbies
I love anything outdoors! Some of my favorite outdoor activities are hiking, kayaking, camping, and a good day at the lake. When the weather is unpleasant, I like to read, cook/bake, and attempt art/craft project. Keyword is attempt! I also teach yoga and enjoy anything from yin to vinyasa flows.
