About Betsy
Nutrition has guided my life and career for the past 16 years. With an MS in Family and Consumer Sciences and a BS in Clinical Nutrition, I practice as an RDN and LDN who enjoys translating science into practical, realistic plans. My background includes outpatient specialty clinics focused on weight management, diabetes education, and GI care, so I’m comfortable with complex medical histories and everyday life realities. Outside the clinic you'll find me hiking, camping, paddle boarding, kayaking, or testing a new recipe. I’m also a devoted dog lover, and I offer paid housesitting and dog boarding that lets me combine care for animals with my flexible schedule.
Approach to care
Grounded in current research, I bring a weight-neutral Health At Every Size perspective to care, while staying direct and action-oriented so we make measurable progress. We'll work together, using clear, evidence-based steps that fit your life and build sustainable habits, not short-lived fixes. I value warmth and empathy, and I hold space for the whole person, including emotional and lifestyle factors. Education is central, so you’ll leave sessions with practical tools and the knowledge to make choices that last.
Your first session with Betsy
Expect a relaxed, judgment-free conversation where we'll get to know your story. We'll review medical history and past experiences working with a dietitian, explore short- and long-term goals, and identify the barriers you see as most important. I want to learn what you expect from me, and together we'll set a couple of realistic, actionable steps to get started. You don’t need to have answers or be perfect, just bring your honesty. I’ll applaud the step you’ve already taken and help you build sustainable routines without negative self-talk.
