About Anna
Hello, I am Anna and I am so excited to support you on your health journey. I have practiced as a RD for over 22 years in a variety of health care settings: medical ICU, cardiology rehab, diabetes & surgical weight loss clinic, inpatient eating disorder program, and private practice. Over the past 14 years I have specialized in kidney nutrition care and I help manage Chronic Kidney Disease and provide nutrition care to patients with End Stage Renal Disease who are on dialysis. I am board certified as a specialist in renal nutrition (CSR) and I will support you in navigating nutrition care needs for prevention or management of kidney disease (all stages), diabetes and weight loss. I'm passionate about providing individualized nutrition and lifestyle advice that is practical, realistic, and achievable within your current lifescape. I live in Utah and love to spend time with my family outdoors, cooking, rock climbing, gardening, dancing, and going to music concerts.
Approach to care
My years of professional experience and numerous interactions with patients taught me to combine evidence-based protocols with a holistic whole-person perspective. My goal is to empower you with knowledge and skills about nutrition and lifestyle behaviors that will put you in a driver's seat of your health. I focus on behavior change that works in the moment, explain the why behind recommendations, and collaborate with you so small wins add up to lasting change. Food and nutrition are essential and powerful tools in fueling and optimizing health and equally should be adding pleasure, adventure and fun in our lives. When indicated and appropriate I also like to harness the power of herbal supplementation to address certain nutrition related concerns. I am looking forward to supporting you in minding your nutrition now, so you can start investing into your future health.
Your first session with Anna
Expect a relaxed, collaborative visit where we'll review your medical history and any lab work or biometrics you have, then take a a look at your eating patters and habits. We'll talk about daily routines, barriers, and what feels realistic for you, and together we'll set short-term goals that are achievable. You do not need to have everything figured out. The goal of this first meeting is to leave with a practical next step and a plan for steady progress.
