About Amber
Food and movement have been part of my life long before textbooks. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition from the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign, and for over 16 years I have worked as an RDN in hospitals, community health programs, and sports nutrition. I love translating science into practical habits that fit busy lives. Outside clinic hours you'll find me cooking, running, reading, coaching my kids' sports teams, walking, or boating. I'm passionate about finding what works best for you and your routine.
Approach to care
Evidence guides what I recommend, but people guide how we put plans into practice. As an RDN I stay rooted in current research and turn it into clear, doable steps we'll use together. I take a weight-neutral, Health At Every Size perspective, focusing on behaviors, well being, and sustainable habits rather than quick fixes. My style is warm and nonjudgmental, educational and direct, so you'll leave sessions with practical strategies and realistic accountability that help change stick.
Your first session with Amber
During the first visit we'll take a relaxed, thorough look at your medical history and any lab work or biometrics you have, so we can see the whole picture. We'll talk through your routines, frustrations, and strengths, then set short-term goals together. There's no pressure to have everything figured out beforehand, just come as you are and we'll build manageable steps toward lasting change.
