About Amanda
Food shapes so many parts of our days, from fueling a morning rush to the rituals that bring family together. I trained in Nutrition and Food Science at Georgia Southern University and completed my dietetic internship at Iowa State University, and for 14 years I have worked as a Registered Dietitian- with a total of 19 years in nutrition- in a variety of settings. I started in public health then moved into a more clinical role in dialysis centers and hospitals. I care deeply about helping people understand how nutrition affects all aspects of life, and I bring that curiosity into every visit. When I’m not meeting patients you’ll probably find me cheering on my kids at their sporting events. I learned the importance of nutrition from being a college athlete.
Approach to care
Everything I share is rooted in science and shaped by your life, not by diet culture. I take a weight-neutral approach, focusing on sustainable habits and practical strategies we can test together. You’ll get clear, evidence-based steps and accountability, delivered with warmth and without judgment. I look at the whole person, including emotional and lifestyle factors, and I teach the why behind recommendations so you feel confident making choices that last.
Your first session with Amanda
Our first visit is a relaxed, collaborative conversation where we’ll review your medical history and any lab work or biometrics you bring. We’ll talk about what’s working, what feels frustrating, and what matters most to you, then agree on one or two short-term goals that feel doable. You don’t need to have everything figured out beforehand. This is a judgement-free space where we’ll build a plan together that fits your schedule and priorities.
