About Alissa
Over 14 years as a registered dietitian, I have blended work in research and academia with clinical hospital care and community health programs. My PhD in Nutritional Sciences from Penn State informs the practical recommendations I share as a dietitian. In addition to nutrition, I love traveling, camping, and spending time with my two kids.
Approach to care
Nutrition works best when it is rooted in science and adapted to your life. I use current research to guide clear, practical steps, while creating a warm, nonjudgmental space where your experiences matter. We'll focus on sustainable habits over quick fixes, honoring your individual preferences and experiences. I aim to educate and empower you, so together we build strategies you can keep long term.
Your first session with Alissa
Expect a relaxed, thorough conversation that prioritizes listening. We'll review your medical history and current routines, talk about what has and hasn't worked, and establish short-term goals we can realistically achieve together. You don't need to have all the answers before our visit. I will help translate medical details into clear action steps, and we'll leave with a couple of doable next steps that feel manageable and meaningful.
