About Alana
Nutrition has been my compass for two decades. I trained at the University of Hawaii at Manoa and have worked across clinical hospital settings, private practice, bariatric surgery, and pediatric specialty care. As an RD I combine practical clinical know-how with a real-world lens, and I bring warmth and curiosity to every visit. Based in Seattle, I recharge by hiking, playing tennis and volleyball, traveling, gardening, and practicing piano. I enjoy helping people translate long experience into small, sustainable changes that fit their lives.
Approach to care
Evidence and empathy guide how I work, and I center care on the whole person, not a number on a scale. Grounded in current research and a Health At Every Size perspective, I focus on sustainable habits that respect your body and goals. We'll work together to build practical strategies, set clear action steps, and track progress in ways that feel achievable. I aim to educate and empower you, offering direct, science-informed recommendations while staying warm, nonjudgmental, and realistic.
Your first session with Alana
We'll take a thorough, low-pressure look at your health and habits. I will review your medical history and any lab work or biometrics, and we'll do a deep dive into your relationship with food so we understand patterns and barriers. Together we'll set short-term goals and create an initial meal plan that feels doable. You don't need to have everything figured out beforehand, this is a judgment-free conversation where we build a clear, sustainable plan step by step.
